September 2021 Update

We have a lot of exciting news for this post.

First and foremost, we are finalizing a deal with the city of Sioux Falls to match $800,000 of our donations!!!!!   Wait, what, did you read that wrong? No, I assure you, you did not! $800,000. It was a unanimous vote from the city council to jump in with us on this project. In particular we would like to thank Rick Kiley for sponsoring our project and bringing it to the city council. We are working with the Parks Department to finalize the details.

We have completed building our fundraising team for community appeals. We have 72 community leaders that have stepped up to help us raise $1,350,000 starting November 1st. We are planning all of our strategies over the next 45 days.

On the donation front, we received well over $30,000 in honor of Barb Iverson. We are humbled by these incredible gifts in the name of such an incredible human. Thank you to Barb for your lifetime of supporting children, and thank you to everyone that donated in her honor. In addition to that we have recently received a $10,000 grant from Wells Fargo. They have a history of giving in this community and we are so grateful to be the newest addition to that list! Joe Zuegger at Workplace Technologies has jumped in with a $12,000 donation as well. Mike at M.B. Haskett also slid in a check for $3000. Please support these businesses as they are all doing great work in the community!

Thanks to Jeremy Haugen for donating your time for the cause as well.

An updated timeline on the park itself: We are looking to wrap up fundraising in March. We plan to start the survey and final design process in the spring of 2022 with construction looking like a July 2023 completion date for the park.
